Build on the 2025 L.L. Bean Japan Edition activation, without simply repeating it, by reinterpreting the shared ocean culture between Japan and Maine through a subtle ’90s lens, drawing inspiration from the 2026 collection’s featured graphic tees.

In March 2026, the second annual L.L.Bean Japan Edition pop-up opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, right on the busy shopping stretch of North 6th.

The exterior was wrapped in a green halftone graphic across the windows, with a fabric flag extending from the building so the brand was clearly visible to the long line of shoppers wrapped around the block waiting to get inside.

Guests stepped into a space defined by light wood and concrete structures that balanced the bold colors of the clothing. Waves moved across walls and washed over mirrors, pulling you in. As you moved deeper, cutouts from the graphic tees came to life as vignettes, noren fabric spanned full walls, and a fisheye mirror reflected the layered cutouts throughout the pop-up, creating an engaging and photogenic space.
