Organize an AWS Girls Tech Day camp specifically designed for 6th grade girls, featuring a range of activities exploring science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Creatively integrate both indoor and outdoor team-building exercises to provide an engaging and educational experience that fosters interest in STEAM.
Sixth grade girls from the Gilroy, CA area were welcomed to a one-day camp full of exciting STEAM activities.
The day commenced with badge-making and introductions before the girls split into groups. Each group rotated through various stations to build robots, craft pop-up LED cards, make their own cotton candy, experiment with fluid art, and go on a math scavenger hunt, collecting bracelets for completing STEAM challenges.
Between sessions, the girls enjoyed team-building field day games, a petting zoo, upbeat DJ tunes, plus sweet and savory summer treats. As a finale, the girls teamed up to see who could decode the symbols on their bracelets first, revealing an inspiring secret message. The winning team went home with their very own STEAM kits!
